Jessie's just arrived in New York, hoping to forget about her awful ex.

New Yorker Finn is in love with his best friend's girlfriend.

They might be perfect together, but in a city of eight million people, will they ever find each other?

I was so excited when I won this book on a Goodreads giveaway- this is my first giveaway win, and it sounded like a perfect, light summer read.

Cover: In person that cover has a gorgeous shiney gold background and the empire state building is relevant (I love it when covers have relevance and purpose) as it plays an important in the story, drawing it all together and of course is an iconic New York image.  I also like the street sign with the title- cute touch.

Plot: Finally Jessie is in New York.  She has forever been obsessed with the place and she's not there just to sight see the places she's always dreamt of but also to stay with her Mother that has moved there.
She's getting over her ex- and where better than the place she has always wanted to be and having the chance to reconnect with her Mother.
New Yorker Finn ha a lot on his mind- his summer job at his father's insurance company is far from exciting, thinking of a way to tell his parents he wants to major in architecture and not business, aswell as struggling with his feelings for his best friend's girlfriend.
Jessie and Finn might be perfect for each other but in such a big city will they not only keep being in the same place at the same time but really find each other?

Characters:

Jessie- She has always felt drawn to New York, like she belongs there.  At first she thinks there's a chance for romance with Ben but then learns that that's not going to happen...
Can she find Finn in a city of eight million people?

Emma- Jessie's best friend.  Is in New York with her for the summer.  Offers support and advice, a great and humorous friend.

Finn- Struggling with his feelings of guilt because of his attraction to his best friend's girlfriend, and his father's expectations.  He loves the empire state building to the point of obsession and started his love of architecture.
Will he realise his feelings for Sam aren't real and that there is someone perfect for him out there...maybe just around the corner.

Scott- Finn's best friend.  Is completely unaware of his friend's feelings his girlfriend.

Sam- Scott's gorgeous girlfriend.

Natalie- Jessie's workaholic, playwright mother.

Ben- The gorgeous lead in Jessie's mother's play.

Writing Style:  A simple writing style.  I really liked having both Jessie's and Finn's points of view- so you do get to see how well they'd go together.

Rating: 3/5 stars.  I really enjoyed the setting of the book and Keris Stainton described New York so well I felt I was there.
I found myself really wanting Jessie and Finn to meet because as the reader you KNEW they were perfect for each other.
The coincidences or fate of them being in the same places at the same reminded me of one of my favourite movies, Serendipity so I liked it for that reason.
However I felt that Jessie and Finn should have interacted more as the end romance didn't leave me feeling that their romance was convincing.  Sure they're perfect for each other and as the reader you've read about them and know that, but how to THEY know that when they're hardly spoken to each other.
I also didn't like a storyline involving Jessie's mother Natalie (I don't want to spoil anything but it involves her boyfriend and it creeped me out a little).
Overall it was an enjoyable read.  I would recommend it if you have read and enjoyed Keris Stainton's first book Della says OMG, and you like realistic, contemporary romance.
