In a world that denies emotions, where the ruling Psy punish any sign of desire, Sascha Duncan must conceal the feelings that brand her as flawed. To reveal them would be to sentence herself to the horror of “rehabilitation”— the complete psychic erasure of everything she ever was….
Both human and animal, Lucas Hunter is a Changeling hungry for the very sensations the Psy disdain. After centuries of uneasy co-existence, these two races are now on the verge of war over the brutal murders of several Changeling women. Lucas is determined to find the Psy killer who butchered his packmate, and Sascha is his ticket into their closely guarded society. But he soon discovers that this ice-cold Psy is very capable of passion—and that the animal in him is fascinated by her. Caught between their conflicting worlds, Lucas and Sascha must remain bound to their identities—or sacrifice everything for a taste of darkest temptation…

Cover:  I like the simple but relevant cover.  Realise what a perfect cover it is after you read the novel.

This is a re-read for me.  I first read this before I started book blogging and vlogging, and this series was on my mind a few weeks ago.  I had read a few of the books, but not them all, so I decided to re-read the first novel in the series to see if I wanted to get back into the series.
And I enjoyed it just as much the second time around.
The first time around I stayed up to the early hours of the morning to finish it.  Reading it in one sitting.
Sascha shouldn't feel.  Being a psy, she should concentrate purely on science.  But Sascha isn't like other psy.  She's fracturing.  Being able to feel is a weakness to psy, and if the psy discover she's different- they'll erase her.
Lucas shouldn't be attracted to Sascha.  His changeling nature should be repelled by her cold, clinical psy nature.  But instead, he's pulled towards her, because she's different.
How can Sascha and Lucas be together?
A really good, paranormal romance.  I love the chemistry between Sascha and Lucas.  I really rooted for them.
Highly recommend for fans of adult paranormal romance.
4.5/5 stars.
